La communauté turque de Belgique est structurée de telle façon que les liens avec le pays d’origine sont restés aussi étroits qu’aux premiers jours de son immigration. Celle-ci est très largement issue de la province anatolienne d’Emirdağ, une région rurale de la Turquie profonde. Concentrés dans les mêmes quartiers (à Bruxelles, dans une zone à cheval sur les communes de Schaerbeek et Saint-Josse), les Belgo- Turcs ont ainsi transposé à l’identique les très nombreux conflits de leur pays d’origine.
